This is, without a doubt, the absolute definitive publication on the topic of postmarks during the pre-adhesive period of the Russian Empire, published in 1993 in a limited edition of 1100 copies.

Lavishly illustrated, and with text in both Russian and English, it is an invaluable reference work for all Russian philatelists.  Please refer to my review for a more complete description.

Due to the short print run, copies are hard to obtain, and sell for as much as $120!  I managed to come across a couple of copies in January 2001 during a visit to St Petersburg.
