Here are thirteen different
blocks of stamps (50 stamps total) that were issued in 1993, with each block
having a beautiful perfectly centered lovely cancel dating to the actual first
day of issue! All stamps are original gum and never hinged, having never
been postally used.
Stamps are two complete sets
(Scott 6175-7 and 6184-91) and two single issues (6182 and 6183).
It is interesting to see
increasing commercialism in these stamp issues - there is little Russian reason
to issue a stamp with a koala on it, for example!
Note that the triangular
"Happy New Year" stamp has its cancel shown over two stamps and so
this is a block of two rather than a block of four.
These stamps were issued during
one of the inflationary periods in Russian history, and as you can see, they
span a wide range of values from 25 rubles up to 250 rubles.
Scott values these stamps in used
form at a total of $13.70 and I wouldn't mind betting that a premium should be
added for these lovely stamps in such excellent condition and with their special
cancels.
However, they can be yours for
only $3.25 - less than one quarter of regular catalog price.
Asking price - $3.25
