This map was issued in
about 1908, I believe, and is an excellent rendition of the regions and
cities/towns of Russia west of the Ural mountains at that time. It
is particularly helpful for tracking down zemstvo localities. This
is the best map that I have found so far, and, as you can see, is
stitched together from two separate pages in the map book. There
is a little bit missing in the middle, and I've tried to fill it in with
neutral color so it isn't so offensive. :)
Danger - the larger image is 3.2MB
in size.
Note also that if you want an even
larger image still, the "master" image that I have in
photoshop format is 50% larger than the large download, and I can make
this available to you with less compression as well (the raw psd file is
60MB!). |
