The Trans Siberian Express 
One of the truly great railway journeys in the
world, stretching some 6000 miles (9300km) between Vladivostok and Moscow,
with optional extension on to St Petersburg.
This is a fascinating and compelling collection of
color photographs taken around the turn of the century (the
nineteenth/twentieth, that is!) by Russian photographer Sergei
Prokudin-Gorskii. The images have been lovingly restored by the US
Library of Congress.
